Returning Students

Return to Admission Information

Returning students are students who previously attended Cal Poly Humboldt and wish to return to complete their undergraduate degree after an absence of two or more semesters. Students who were admitted but did not attend that first semester are not considered returning students.

Undergraduate students, as well as post-baccalaureate students who are pursuing a second bachelor’s degree, who meet eligibility requirements may request to return to Cal Poly Humboldt without reapplying to the university. Students who have completed at least one semester at Cal Poly Humboldt and were in good academic standing or on academic notice when they last attended Cal Poly Humboldt are eligible.

All returning students who enrolled at another institution during their absence from Cal Poly Humboldt are required to submit official transcripts from all institutions attended. See Sending Transcripts to Humboldt on the Office of Admissions website.

Students absent two years or less are generally eligible to retain their original catalog rights and access to early registration. Students absent more than two years may request an expedited reapplication process by submitting a request to return. Students will need to go through the Admissions process and meet eligibility criteria.
