Communication Minor

The Communication minor supports students in developing their skills in advocacy, facilitation, critical thinking, listening and speaking. Students enrolled in the Communication minor are encouraged to choose electives that complement their major or support their professional plans.

Requirements for the Minor (12 Units)

Take a total of 12 units selected from courses offered by the Department of Communications (prefix COMM). At least 6 of those units must be at the upper division level (courses numbered 300-499). No more than 3 units from activity courses may count toward the minor.

Note: If used for General Education, COMM 100 - Fundamentals of Speech Communication Units: 3 COMM 103 - Critical Listening and Thinking Units: 3 cannot be used to meet the 12 units required for the minor.
