The Journalism minor provides students with skills in digital media production and knowledge in media literacy. Students in the minor can experience hands-on learning producing content for our award-winning student media outlets The Lumberjack, El Leñador, Osprey magazine and KRFH radio station. Students learn ways to communicate information effectively and tell compelling stories across media technologies while thinking more critically about the media they consume and produce.
Depending on their coursework, students with a journalism minor can use their skills and knowledge to land jobs as writers, reporters, page designers, photographers, radio show hosts, public relations representatives, editors, media entrepreneurs and more.
