A minor in Chemistry will benefit students earning a degree in the physical or biological sciences who are planning on pursuing employment or graduate degrees that are related to the chemical sciences. It will also benefit students planning on seeking professional programs in teaching, medical school, or veterinary school.

Requirements for the Minor (21-26 Units)
Students must earn a minimum grade of C- in all courses with the “CHEM” prefix for the chemistry minor. A minimum of 8 upper division units must be earned at Cal Poly Humboldt. In accordance with university policy, students are generally prohibited from earning a major and minor from the same degree program. Students may not major in Chemistry or Biochemistry, and also earn a minor in Chemistry. Lower Division (10 Units)
Complete the below two courses. Year-long Sequences (8-11 Units)
Complete one of the following year-long sequences. Approved Elective Courses (3-5 Units)
Complete one additional elective CHEM course selected from the below list or from the above year-long sequences (if prerequisite requirements have been met). |
