The Cartography Certificate develops advanced skills in map design, geovisualization, and cartographic production. Students learn the art and science of effective mapmaking-from symbolization, typography, and color to layout, interaction, and publication workflows-so they can clearly communicate geographic information to both technical and public audiences. Designed as an advanced, stackable credential following the Geospatial Basic Certificate of Study , the Geospatial Analysis Minor , or equivalent preparation.
Admission/Prerequisites: Completion of the Geospatial Basic Certificate of Study , the Geospatial Analysis Minor , or equivalent coursework providing fundamentals in GIS and spatial data analysis. (See current catalog for course-specific prerequisites.)
