Digital Humanities Certificate of Study

Digital Humanities (DH) is defined by the convergence of humanities disciplines-such as history, literature, philosophy, art, and culture-with cutting-edge technologies like data analytics, digital archiving, interactive design, and artificial intelligence. In today’s academic and professional environment, the ability to work at this intersection is increasingly important, offering students a competitive edge in a variety of fields, including academia, museums, libraries, publishing, and even industries like data science and technology.

The Certificate in Digital Humanities (DH) offers Cal Poly Humboldt students applied, hands-on learning opportunities that highlight the expertise of current faculty and are designed to enhance students’ real-world skills and experiences. The DH certificate will equip students with a specialized knowledge of the humanities and an understanding of the technical aspects critical for modern scholarship and industry practices.
