Advanced Placement Examination Credit


 

Credits awarded for completion of external examination are based on when the exam was taken and the score earned. No more than 30 semester units of such credit may apply to a baccalaureate degree (Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credits are excluded from this limit). See GE codes below.

AP Exam notes

[1] If more than one AP exam in calculus is passed, only 9 units may be applied to the baccalaureate degree.

[2] If more than one AP exam in computer science is passed, only 6 units may be applied to the baccalaureate degree.

[3] If both AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics are passed, 12 units will be applied to the baccalaureate degree as follows: D (3 units), ECON 210  , and electives (5 units)

[4]  If both AP English exams are passed, only 9 units may be applied to the baccalaureate degree and will be distributed: A2 ENGL 104 (3 units), C2 (3 units) and electives (3 units).
[5]  If more than one AP exam in physics is passed, only 6 units may be applied to the baccalaureate degree.

[6]  A total of 6 units (two courses) chosen from: HIST 107, HIST 108, HIST 109, HIST 109B. C2 may be awarded in lieu of the previous courses. Contact the Office of the Registrar for further information.
[8]  Does not meet the California State and Local Government degree requirement. 

[9] History majors may also use this exam to meet 3 units towards the lower division civilizations requirement.
