Major Academic Plans
Major Academic Plans (or MAPS) show the courses you might take each semester to meet your degree requirements in 4 years. Students at Cal Poly Humboldt follow many different paths to graduation. Your educational and career goals, as well as personal interests all contribute to determining the courses you take. We encourage you to discuss course options with an advisor.
The General Education and All-University Requirements in this MAP are in effect for students entering Cal Poly Humboldt with the catalog year of 2023-24. Refer to your degree audit for details on your major and GE catalog year.
Set yourself up for academic success in challenging classes. Add a 1-unit Supplemental Instruction (SI) session. options to see if there’s a match with a class you are taking.
Semester 1 (14 Units)
[1] Complete an advisor-approved cohesive set of at least 15 units, 9 of which must be at the upper division level. Select course in consultation with a major advisor.
Transfer Notes
- Complete enough units to reach the total of 120 units required for the degree.
- Complete two Diversity and Common Ground (DCG) courses, at least one course must have a domestic focus (DCG-domestic). Look for General Education courses that double-count for DCG.
- Complete 9 units upper division General Education (3 units each areas B, C and D); and any lower division GE or American Institutions (US History and US/CA Government) courses not taken prior to transfer.

Major Transfer Notes;
Consult a major advisor if you have not completed the equivalent of the CS 111 , DATA 111 , MATH 107 MATH 109 MATH 110 , and STAT 109 prior to transfer. See transfer notes for Lower-Division GE, American Institutions and Diversity and Common Ground requirements.
