Major Academic Plans for Transfer Students
At Cal Poly Humboldt, your path to graduation is shaped by your goals and interests. Major Academic Plans (MAPs) suggest courses each semester to help you meet degree requirements in four years. They’re flexible, especially for General Education & All-University Requirements , so use them as a guide - not a rule. Some majors fulfill GE requirements through Approved General Education Modifications by Major . Use DARS planning tools and MAPs to build your plan, and meet with your advisor each semester to customize your schedule and stay on track. Major Academic Plans (MAPs) for Transfer Students show what courses you might take each semester in order to meet university and major program requirements and graduate in two years. This is a suggested two-year plan for transfer students who have earned an associate degree for transfer (AA-T or AS-T), or students who have completed 60 semester/90 quarter transferable college credits (including all lower division CSU General Education areas 1-6, and American Institutions). Students may need to complete additional lower-division major coursework depending on the coursework completed prior to transfer. Discussing course options with an advisor will best serve you in planning a customized schedule to meet your individual academic needs. Transfer Notes (Engineering Majors)
Complete enough units to reach the total of 120 units required for the degree. Complete two Diversity and Common Ground (DCG) courses, at least one course must have a domestic focus (Diversity and Common Ground: Domestic). Look for General Education courses that double-count for DCG. Complete 6 units of upper-division General Education (3 units each in Upper Division GE Area 3: Arts or Humanities and Upper Division GE Area 4: Social Sciences ); and any lower-division GE or American Institutions (US History and US/CA Government) courses not taken prior to transfer. See the Cal Poly Humboldt catalog for course descriptions as well as Major, General Education, American Institutions, and Diversity and Common Ground requirements. |
