To be considered an Upper Division Transfer student, you must have: Completed a minimum of 60 semester or 90 quarter units of transferable coursework (if transferring from a community college, it is advised to complete 70 semester units or 105 quarter units as allowed); have an overall college GPA of at least 2.00; be in good standing at the last college or university attended. In simple terms, “good standing” means you are eligible to re-enroll at your last college or university; have completed 10 general education courses (30 semester units or 45 quarter units) of basic skills courses, with a grade of C- or better, and, specifically, four courses completed in the following GE breadth areas: 1A: Written Communication, 1B: Critical Thinking, 1C: Speech Communications, and 2: Mathematics.

Transfer Notes

Complete enough units to reach the total of 120 units required for the degree.
Complete two Diversity and Common Ground (DCG) courses, at least one course must have a domestic focus (Diversity and Common Ground: Domestic). Look for General Education courses that double-count for DCG.
Complete 9 units of upper-division General Education (3 units each in Upper Division GE Area 2/5: Mathematics or Sciences , Upper Division GE Area 3: Arts or Humanities , and Upper Division GE Area 4: Social Sciences ); and any lower-division GE or American Institutions (US History and US/CA Government) courses not taken prior to transfer.
Complete the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (GWAR); some GWAR courses double-count for upper-division General Education Upper Division GE Area 3: Arts or Humanities and Upper Division GE Area 4: Social Sciences .
