Major Academic Plans for Transfer Students

At Cal Poly Humboldt, your path to graduation is shaped by your goals and interests. Major Academic Plans (MAPs) suggest courses each semester to help you meet degree requirements in four years. They’re flexible, especially for General Education & All-University Requirements , so use them as a guide - not a rule. Some majors fulfill GE requirements through Approved General Education Modifications by Major . Use DARS planning tools and MAPs to build your plan, and meet with your advisor each semester to customize your schedule and stay on track.

Major Academic Plans (MAPs) for Transfer Students show what courses you might take each semester in order to meet university and major program requirements and graduate in two years. This is a suggested two-year plan for transfer students who have earned an associate degree for transfer (AA-T or AS-T), or students who have completed 60 semester/90 quarter transferable college credits (including all lower division CSU General Education areas 1-6, and American Institutions). Students may need to complete additional lower-division major coursework depending on the coursework completed prior to transfer. Discussing course options with an advisor will best serve you in planning a customized schedule to meet your individual academic needs.

Year 1 (Junior Year)

Semester 1 (15 Units)

Semester 2 (15 Units)

Year 2 (Senior Year)

Major Notes - Anthropology Transfer Students

  1. Some major courses will double-count for General Education and All-University Requirements and Diversity and Common Ground. If you do not select double-count courses you will need to add separate courses to meet the requirements. Plan your courses in consultation with an advisor.
  2. Discuss your plan for concentration courses with your advisor. Not all courses are offered every semester, and some courses have prerequisites.
  3. Take two methods courses chosen from ANTH 300  , ANTH 301  , and ANTH 318 . For the archaeology concentration, ANTH 300  is strongly recommended.
  4. Add elective units as needed to reach 15 units on average across semesters.
